Expansion at the Brazilian pavilion on June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair

The June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair is celebrating its 28th anniversary in 2015. Reputed as one of Asia’s top three fine jewellery events, the June Fair attracts thousands of visitors from around the world every year. From June 25-28th, over 2,200 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions will show their collections on 70.000 square meters of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The Brazilian pavilion, partially supported by the sectorial project Brazil Gems and Jewelry – joint initiative between IBGM and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), is one of the most prominent among the international exhibitors. Located at hall 5E, it has twice the area as former years gathering 28 colored gemstone companies: Aro Gemas, Bartgems, Belmont, Bezim Gems, BGC – Brazil Gem Commerce, Duarte&Bastos, E&E Gemas, Empire Gems, Gemextra, JG Stones, JS Gems, Manoel Bernardes, Manoel Nogueira, Marupiara, MC Gemas, Minas Gemas e Joias, Mineração Terra Branca, Nevesgems, OTF Gems, Peter Valicek Gems, Pinkstone International, Peter Muller Carvings, Premier Gems, R&R Gemas, R. Figueiredo, RC Gemas, Stone World and Tavares Gems.

The Chinese market is still the main destination for Brazilian stones, for either local companies or distribution to other countries. “It’s an important hub to spread Brazilian products. The amount of buyers from different parts of the world represents endless opportunities in terms of destinations”, says Clarissa Maciel, international manager at Brazil Gems and Jewelry.

In 2014 Brazilian companies exported approximately US$ 3,5 million during the event and another US$ 6,5 million during the following 12 months. Although not so optimistic this year, sales are estimated to increase due to the larger number of exhibitors.
